Parad (solidified mercury) is made with 8 Samkaras. The eight Samskars are the 8 stages of purification which are done as per Parad Sanmhita and a thorough medicated and hygienic removal of "Sapta-kanchuki (wherein all poisonous material inside Parad is removed)" is followed in this process. While making the Siddha Parad the Mercury's mouth is closed with a special technology called "Aghor Vidhya" and Badhha/Agnibadha (heat sustaining properties of Prard). The making of Parad involves cleansing of Parad using 108 rare herbs and putting the Parad in these herbs individually for a certain period of time as mentioned in the Parad Sanmhita. This Parad is used to make Gutika, Shivalingam, and Murtis. The Gutika gives 24 Ras and 5 Tatva which removes all diseases from the body.
As per Shiva Puran, the Parad is a sperm of Lord Shiva. The Parad (solidified mercury) works on the Sahasrara Chakra mainly but at the same time balances all other Chakras as well. Parad enhances the association with Lord Shiva, benefits in focus, concentration, meditation, and spiritual augmentation. The Parad bestows the wearer of this immensely pure Parad Gutika with immense peace, contentment, concentration, dhyana and provides tremendous support in achieving the state of "Samadhi" and finally, the wearer is granted "Moksha" by the divine blessings of Lord Shiva. Siddh Parad, when prepared as per ancient texts and knowledge of Parad Bandhan, contains tremendous miraculous properties of healing and protection.
